The micro auditorium, ‘Stare!’ is a
public space with a private view,
inviting the audience to a new lake vista.
The Stare! Installation can be seen from the street level when looking down to the water. As one of the only parts of the lake shore where cyclists can actually see the lake it invites to have a break and walk down to the installation.
The construction rests on a natural ledge marking the former shoreline of lake Wörthersee.
Around 100 years ago the water level was lowered to create more land around the lake.
Almost an extension to the pier it frames the view towards the lake while the difference in level to the street protects from the noise of the cars passing by. It is an ideal spot to rest for a while.
When the Sound Cannon is in action the installation works as a tribune. As the lake shore and view is mostly privatized the Stare! installation could become one of the only local meeting spots by the lake.
